An era is coming to an end at the Austrian Nic.at: Richard Wein, Commercial Director of the registry since summer 2000, is retiring at the end of August 2025 after decades of successful work. The state-certified business economist from Bad Reichenhall already had a wide range of professional experience before entering the domain industry, including at Agfa-Gaevert (Munich) and the Bürgerbräu brewery. Under his leadership, Nic.at developed into a globally recognized company that is characterized by stability, security and service quality and is always open to innovations such as “TLD Box”. He will be succeeded on July 1, 2025 by Andreas Musielak, a long-standing member of the Executive Board of the .de registry DENIC eG. During his time at DENIC, Musielak was responsible for finance, human resources, legal affairs and member and end customer support. He will continue and further develop these focal points at Nic.at. The handover will be prepared in the coming months to ensure a smooth process. The dual leadership of the Nic.at management team will remain in place: Robert Schischka will act as technical managing director alongside Musielak and will ensure continuity in the technical management of the company with his expertise.
