Nic.at, administrator of the Austrian country code .at, has further optimised the availability of its top level domain. Internet nodes (Internet Exchange Points), i.e. a physical location through which Internet infrastructure companies are connected, are of great importance for a registry. Internet service providers (ISPs) or companies with large networks, for example, join forces to make the Internet faster. At the instigation of Nic.at, the .at zone is now represented at all Internet Exchange Points in Austria, thus helping to guarantee and improve the speed and reliability of the Internet in Austria across the board. In addition to Vienna, Salzburg and Rheintal, the .at zone is now also represented with a node in Klagenfurt in order to organise data traffic efficiently and reduce latency times. A total of 56 nodes are currently available in two independent clouds in two autonomous systems for companies and registrars. By integrating new nodes in strategically important regions, Nic.at ensures that requests are processed even faster and more efficiently and guarantees 100 per cent uptime - true to the motto: with .at you do everything right and nothing wrong.
