Feliz cumpleaños, .pr: 35 years have passed since the country extension of Puerto Rico was registered in the root zone on 27 August 1989. Dr Oscar Moreno de Ayala, who took over the development of .pr, is regarded as a pioneer: .pr is now managed by Gauss Research Laboratory Inc. The registry does not intend to rest on its laurels in the future and has announced that it will expand and improve the .pr technology in order to optimise the infrastructure. For example, an authoritative name server was recently implemented in Puerto Rico to improve the speed and reliability of local services. In addition, the registry is promoting the use of .pr to companies and public and private organisations, offering them special prices. Furthermore, the registry has gained an important technology partner in nTLD registry Identity Digital (formerly Donuts), which enables it to stay at the forefront of technologies such as EPP, DNSSEC and IPv6, which should ensure the robustness and security of .pr.
