UD is preparing an application to ICANN for .podcast

The US company Unstoppable Domains Inc., known for blockchain domains such as .eth, .crypto and .wallet, has announced its intention to apply for the new generic top-level domain .podcast from the Internet registry ICANN. The extension sees itself as a “portal to the next generation of the internet and your gateway to a vibrant community of creators, thinkers, and innovators”. This is to be achieved in collaboration with The Edge Of Company, a Singapore-based company founded in 2020 with a focus on Web3 and NFTs. Pending a successful application, .podcast can already be registered as a Web3 domain via Unstoppable Domains for a one-time fee of US$ 20. However, it is not possible to use .podcast domains in the Domain Name System administered by ICANN. However, Unstoppable Domains is currently advertising a claim to “discounts and/or access to future The Edge of Company events, a creator forum to connect with other creators, and airdrops from the Edge of Show guests.”
